My husband and I visited Santa Fe for our anniversary and this was the view from our room of the Bishops Lodge. These paintings mark a little exploration into a new genre for me. Inspired by the Fauvist approach to color, I'm exploring how to capture not just the beauty of a landscape, but the feeling it leaves behind. In this piece, I leaned into the vibrant, unexpected color and expressive brushwork to convy the energy and wonder I experience there.
