11 x14" Acrylic on a canvas board set in a gold frame.  (15x17") "Irises of Olana Garden"  was painted during a summer art retreat in upstate New York. The Olana House was home of Frederic Church, who was an American landscape painter and a central figure in the Hudson River School of American landscape painters. These Irises captured Claire's  eye with their strong, velvety hues and this was the final painting in a series of Iris studies.
