I visit Boulder often as my son is a student at CU and this is the view from the Saturday Farmers market which is something we go to everytime we are there. These paintings mark a little exploration into a new genre for me. Inspired by the Fauvist approach to color, I'm exploring how to capture not just the beauty of a landscape, but the feeling it leaves behind. In this piece, I leaned into the vibrant, unexpected color and expressive brushwork to convy the energy and wonder I experience there.
